High Voltage High Current TEC Controllers

Based on our low- and medium-power TEC controllers, Analog Technologies has designed a family of high voltage, high current TEC (Peltier) controllers for high-power applications (>100W). The series spans 5.5V–28V power-supply rails and delivers up to 15A of bidirectional output current, with greater than 92% efficiency, ±0.001°C temperature stability, Auto-PID compensation and zero EMI. Most models run at full output without an external heat sink. Pick the model that matches your supply voltage and current requirement below.

High Voltage High Current TEC Controllers – TEC28V15A Series

The TEC28V15A series is the highest-power member of the family — powered by 5.5V to 25V DC and delivering up to 15A of bidirectional output current with ±20V output. It achieves >92% efficiency at full load (VPS=28V, VTEC=14V, ITEC=15A), ±0.001°C temperature stability, and zero EMI. Both DIP (TEC28V15AD) and SMT (TEC28V15AS) packages are offered, each with an optional built-in Auto-PID compensation network (TEC28V15ADAPID / TEC28V15ASAPID). High Voltage High Current TEC Controllers – TEC24V10A Series

The TEC24V10A series TEC controllers are powered by a power supply of 5.5V to 24V and deliver up to ±10A of bidirectional output current with an output voltage range of 0 to ±23.5V. They achieve >92% efficiency and feature thermal pads underneath the module for built-in heat sinking — no external heat sink is required for output currents below 8A. They come with Auto PID control firmware, so no manual tuning of the compensation network is needed. If preferred, a traditional analog compensation network can still be utilized after manually tuning the component values to match the thermal load characteristics.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a high voltage high current TEC controller?

A high voltage high current TEC controller is a power-electronics module that drives thermoelectric (Peltier) coolers for high-power thermal management. It precisely regulates the magnitude and direction of the current through the TEC to cool or heat an object, typically delivering tens of watts to several hundred watts at >90% efficiency.

Which TEC controller series should I choose?

Choose by the available power-supply voltage and the required TEC current. The TEC28V15A suits 28V rails up to 15A (highest power); TEC24V10A suits 24V rails up to 10A; TEC18V15A suits 18V rails up to 15A; TEC12V9A suits 12V rails up to 9A; TEC9V7A suits 9V rails up to 7A. All deliver >92% efficiency and ±0.001°C stability.

What is Auto PID compensation?

Auto PID is a built-in firmware feature that automatically tunes the control-loop compensation network to match the thermal load, removing the need to manually adjust analog compensation components. Part numbers ending in "APID" (for example TEC24V10ADAPID) include this feature.

Do these TEC controllers need a heat sink?

Most models in the family (TEC18V15A, TEC12V9A, TEC9V7A) deliver their maximum output current without an external heat sink, thanks to >92% efficiency. The higher-voltage TEC24V10A includes thermal pads underneath the module for built-in heat sinking and may require an external heat sink for output currents above 8A to keep its internal temperature below 85°C.
