In recent years, with the rapid development of optoelectronic technology, diode lasers have been widely used in medical, defense, measurement and other fields. The change in ambient temperature directly affects the wavelength of the diode laser. Since the temperature has a great influence on the quality of the diode laser, in the case of a constant current, the laser wavelength will increase by about 0.1nm for every 1°C increase in temperature, and too high a temperature will cause the diode laser to age or even be damaged. The diode laser is a device that is electrically sensitive and expensive, so our controllers must provide monitoring, limiting and overload protection capabilities.

ATLS10A217 is a very good high voltage constant current laser driver. It not only has a wide input voltage range and output voltage range, but also has a powerful load capacity. The wide input voltage range is from 5.5V to27V. And the wide output voltage range is from 0.1VVPS to 0.8VVPS. It has high output current capability up to 10A with high efficiency. At the same time, the laser driver provides over temperature protection. In case the laser driver temperature exceeds the limit, 120°C, the laser driver will shut down the output stage. The laser driver also provide these features: loop good indication, standby and shutdown control, laser current set, low output noise, wide modulation bandwidth, etc. It is only a metal enclosure DIP package with a volume of 27.4 × 20.9 × 8.9 (mm), which not only saves valuable PCB space, but also prevents interference with other surrounding electronic devices.
