This laser driver has a relatively large size than our other laser driver modules, but smaller than the laser drivers of the similar type in the market. It features high speed digital modulation 5kHz, low temperature rise of 30°C, configurable output current and voltage limit, and configurable digital modulation valley current. The output current can be adjusted by an analog voltage, 0V to 2.5V, by an external or internal potentiometer. The 2.5V reference voltage in this laser driver can used for setting the max. output voltage as well as the output current. It can also be used as the voltage reference for external ADCs and DACs. The latter can be used to monitor and set the laser current and max. output voltage.
In addition, this laser driver comes with a soft start circuit so that the current transactions will be smooth when the laser driver is powered up. The inside over-temperature protection circuit will shut down the laser driver when it detects the temperature exceeds the temperature limit. These functions ensure a long service life of the laser driver.
