A high efficiency TEC controller, TECA1-xV-xV-D, is designed for driving TECs. It can be highly stable when adjusting the object temperature. There are many models of TEC controllers that can be selected based on customer requirements. The first “xV” in part number TECA1-xV-xV-D, stands for the input voltage, and the second “xV” stands for the maximum TEC voltage. Two packaging are available: DIP and SMT. It has a very small package with a 6 sided metal enclosure to prevent the controller and other electronics from interfering with each other. TEC controller TECA1-xV-xV-D has a high stability and low noise 3.0V voltage reference, which can be used for setting the desired object temperature.

The internal block diagram shows that the TEC controller provides these functions: thermistor T-R curve linearization, temperature measurement and monitoring, temperature control loop status indication, TEC voltage monitoring, thermal load compensation network, power up delay, shut down, and so on. TEC Controller TECA1-xV-xV-D can be used with the Evaluation Board TECEV104. The TEC Controller Evaluation Board is mainly used to adjust the external compensation network of the TEC Controller so as to match the characteristics of users’ thermal load. It also can be used for these functions: setting maximum output voltage, setting set-point temperature, monitoring output voltage and monitoring actual thermal load temperature.
