Laser driver placed in front of the optical emission is designed for biasing and modulating laser, i.e. it converts high speed voltage signal into high speed current signal to modulate laser. In order to meet different design requirements, our company (ATI) has released many kinds of laser drivers, such as ultra-low noise laser driver, high efficiency laser driver, dual mode laser driver and so on. Next, dual mode laser driver will be introduced in details.

LDA1-CP2 is an electronic module designed for driving N type laser diode, which has controllable driving current and laser output power. The power efficiency of PWM is 90%, and there is no need for heat sink. The output current and laser power can be set linearly by two separate input voltages, and at the same time, they can also accept the linear monitoring of the two voltages respectively. It comes with 2.5V reference voltage with high stability and low noise. The reference voltage can be utilized to set output current, and it can be also used as the reference voltage of ADC (analog to digital converter) and DAC (digital to analog converter). Because of being packaged in a six sided metal enclosure, LDA1-CP2 can be shielded completely and avoid the interferences between the driver and other electronics.
