Description
The TEC14M5V3R5AS is an ultra compact, low profile, and fully molded TEC controller designed for driving TECs (Thermo-Electric Coolers) with high electrical and mechanical reliability that can achieve high temperature stability for regulating the object temperature.
The module provides interface ports for setting the main target object set-point temperature range, i.e. set-point temperature range; maximum voltage across TEC, i.e. maximum TEC voltage; and the compensation network. The compensation network compensates the high order thermal load and thus stabilizes the temperature control loop.
It provides these functions: thermistor T-R curve linearization, temperature measurement and monitoring, temperature control loop status indication, TEC voltage monitoring, power up delay, and shut down.
The TEC14M5V3R5AS comes with a high stability, low noise 2.5V voltage reference that can be used for setting the desired object temperature with a POT (Potentiometer) or a DAC (Digital to Analog Converter). Because the internal temperature measurement network uses the same reference, the set-point and measurement errors cancel each other, so the set-point temperature error is independent of the reference voltage. The same reference can be used by an ADC for more accurate temperature measurement.

Application Information
The controller drives a TEC (Peltier cooler) to regulate the temperature of an object mounted on the TEC's cold side. The set-point temperature, the maximum TEC voltage, and the compensation network are configured through the module's interface ports.
It ships with a default set-point temperature range of 15°C to 35°C, which can be configured to other ranges on request. An external compensation network is recommended so it can be tuned for different thermal loads. For custom configurations, please contact Analog Technologies.
Note: The maximum allowed input voltage is 6V. Connect the module to the supply before powering on, and ensure the supply can deliver 1.2 to 1.5 times the maximum required current to avoid overshoot that could damage the controller.
