AD210ATI 3-Port Isolation Amplifier — Description

The AD210ATI is the latest addition to a new generation of affordable, high-performance isolation amplifiers. This three-port, wide-bandwidth amplifier is built using surfacemounted components in an automated assembly process. By combining advanced design expertise with cutting-edge manufacturing technology, the AD210ATI delivers a highly compact, cost-effective isolator with performance and user features that far exceed those of more expensive alternatives.
The AD210ATI provides complete isolation, with both signal and power isolation achieved through internal transformer coupling. Its fully integrated design, powered by a single +15V supply, eliminates the need for an external DC/DC converter, a common requirement for optically coupled isolation devices. The true three-port design allows the AD210 to function as both an input and output isolator, making it ideal for single or multi-channel applications. It maintains superior performance even under sustained common-mode stress.
Offering high accuracy and full galvanic isolation, the AD210 effectively breaks ground loops and leakage paths, while rejecting common-mode voltage and noise that could otherwise compromise measurement accuracy. Why Engineers Choose the AD210ATI Isolation Amplifier

Every figure below is taken directly from the AD210ATI datasheet specification table.

High common-mode performance

2500V rms continuous and ±3500V peak continuous between any two ports (AD210JNATI: 1500V rms, ±2000V peak). A 5pF common-mode input capacitance yields 120dB CMR at G = 100V/V and 2μA rms max leakage at 240V rms, 60Hz.

Precision DC accuracy

±0.005% max nonlinearity (B grade), ±25ppm/°C max gain drift over 0°C to +70°C, and (±10 ±30/G) μV/°C input offset drift — low-level sensor signals survive the trip across the barrier.

Bandwidth to close a control loop

500kHz full-power bandwidth at G = 1V/V (300kHz at G = 100V/V), 10V/μs slew rate and 1μs rise time. That leaves ample margin in control loops, where limited bandwidth could otherwise lead to instability.

True three-port isolation

Input, output and power ports are mutually independent, so one part serves as either an input or an output isolator, and the system stays protected if the power source faults.

Isolated power included

±15V at ±5mA is available at both the input and output sections, from a single +15V supply — enough to run floating signal conditioners, front-end amplifiers or remote transducers with no external DC/DC converter.

Uncommitted input amplifier

The input op amp is left free for buffering, gain (1V/V to 100V/V) or custom signal conditioning. Linear differential input range is ±10V; output is ±10V min into 2kΩ.

Board-friendly DIP package

1.00" × 2.10" × 0.350" (25.4 × 53.3 × 8.9 mm), low enough for 0.5" card racks, with pin spacing chosen to preserve isolation clearance between ports.

Industrial temperature range

Is the AD210ATI a true drop-in replacement for the AD210?

Yes. The AD210ATI keeps the AD210 pinout and the same 1.00" × 2.10" × 0.350" DIP footprint, so an existing board needs no layout change. Every specification is equal to or better than the original part.

What supply does the AD210ATI need?

A single +15V supply at the power port — 15V ±5% for rated performance, 15V ±10% operating. Quiescent current is 30mA; full load with full signal draws 80mA. The isolated ±15V rails for the input and output sections are generated internally from a 2.5MHz carrier, so no external DC/DC converter is required.

How much common-mode voltage can the AD210ATI withstand?
