A1U Series Rack-Mount AC-DC High Voltage Power Supply

Q: What input voltage do A1U supplies require?

110 VAC or 220 VAC, selected with the rear-panel switch, at 50/60 Hz.

Q: Can the output be adjusted or programmed remotely?

Yes. Set the output locally with the 10-turn front-panel potentiometer, or remotely with a 0-5 V signal (0-5 V = 0-100% of rated output) through the 8-pin connector. Voltage and current monitor outputs (0-5 V) report the actual output.

Q: Is there a shutdown input?

Yes. A logic low (below 0.8 V or 0 V) on the SDN pin turns the high voltage off; a logic high (above 1.2 V) or an open pin allows normal operation.

Q: What output polarities are available?

Positive output is standard. A negative model is stocked, A1UHVACN5KV5MARM (-5 kV). Other voltages, currents, and polarities are available as OEM options.

DESCRIPTIONS

A1U series AC-DC high voltage power supplies are rack-mountable and convert an AC input voltage into a stable, adjustable high-voltage DC output. This series features a compact 1U enclosure, light weight, moisture-proof and shockproof construction, a metal chassis, low EMI, output short-circuit protection, and a wide output-voltage adjustment range.

Note – Reference Voltage

The reference voltage is for powering a potentiometer (≥10KΩ) to adjust the high-voltage output. Do NOT use it to power other devices.

It depends on the model: below 0.01% Vp-p on the low-current precision units (5 kV/4 mA, 5 kV/5 mA, −5 kV/5 mA) and below 0.1% Vp-p on the higher-current units (1 kV/50 mA, 5 kV/10 mA, 10 kV/5 mA).

Is the unit rack-mountable, and how much does it weigh?

Yes. Every A1U model is a 1U 19-inch rack unit measuring 482.5 × 350 × 44 mm and weighing 3.6 kg (7.93 lb).
