Laser driver ATLS6A201D is an independent research and development product of our company (ATI), which is designed for driving laser diode with up to 6A constant current. Its actual photo is shown in Figure 1. And Figure 2 is the block diagram of the laser driver.



The Figure 2 is the block diagram of the laser driver. The close control circuit of laser driver ATLS6A201D obtains signal from three sources: external shut down, over current signal and over temperature signal. When any of them is activated, this driver will shut down. The soft start circuit doesn’t start the driver until none of them is activated. During starting time, soft start circuit can increase the output current slowly and shut down the current quickly. If the junction temperature is over 150°C, thermal shutdown circuit will turn off the driver; if the temperature decreases to 10°C below the thermal shutdown circuit point, the driver will automatically terminate the off state and start up under the control of soft start circuit. The reference voltage of this driver is 2.5V with high stability and low noise, which can set the output current by setting the voltage of LIS. The state indicating circuit of laser diode is utilized to monitor its own working state.
