Recently, we designed a high voltage 4A Laser driver, ATLS4A217. It has both a wide input voltage range from 5.5V to 27V and a wide output voltage range from 0.1VVPS to 0.8VVPS. At the same time, it allows driving one or more laser diodes and its current can be as high as 4A. There is no need for heat sink with high efficiency. It’s very difficult to meet the above characteristics for laser driver at the same time.
This laser driver temperature can be monitored. The output of the laser driver will be shut off when the temperature exceeds 120°C. The controller will restart working when the temperature drops below 110°C. It has the function of under voltage protection. If the input voltage is below 0.4V, the controller will be shut down. The laser driver has many other features, such as, loop good indication, current set, soft start and so on.
We also have developed a load assembly and evaluation board to evaluate the laser driver. The load assembly ALLD10A14V, is designed to emulate laser diodes. And it’s more convenient to connect the wire to the external circuits by using the evaluation board ATLA216EV1.0.
