Thermistor is a kind of thermal sensitive resistance and its resistance value will have a significant change with temperature variation. Thermistors are mostly made of metal oxide semiconductor materials. As thermistor has compact size, simple structure, high sensitivity and high stability, and it also makes it easy to realize remote measurement and control, thermistor has been widely used for measuring, controlling temperature, temperature compensation, alarming and so on.
Thermistor can be divided into three types, negative temperature coefficient thermistor (
NTC thermistor), positive temperature coefficient thermistor (PCT thermistor) and switch type thermistor. Resistivity of the former two thermistors will change exponentially with the change of temperature.
Generally speaking, NTC thermistor can be utilized to detect temperature, compensate temperature, measure microwave power and control temperature in various electronic products.
