ATI’s high voltage power supplies feature good specifications, complete functions, stable performance and easy operation. Here I’d like to share with you the instructions of ATI’s high voltage power supply, and takes AHV12V6KV1MAW as an example.

From the naming, we can see that AHV12V6KV1MAW has an input voltage of 12V, the maximum output voltage of 6kV, and the maximum output current of 1mA. This high voltage power supply module can converse low DC voltage to high DC voltage. We can find distinctions and marks in the high voltage power supply:

The output is a brown high voltage cable, while the input has multiple colorful cables.

                                                                                         Output                                         Input / ADJ

The external connections of high voltage power supply module is shown in below. The cable colors are the same as that of physical cables.

Control by External Signal Source Constant

Output Voltage

ATI high voltage power supply:

Input: from left to right

Black wire: ground

Red wire: 12V input

White wire: control signal

Yellow wire: 5V reference voltage

Blue wire: shutdown

Output:

Brown wire: high voltage output

During POT adjustment, the middle tap of the POT connects to the white wire, and the other two ends connect to the ground (black wire) and 5V reference voltage (yellow wire). When the power is on, the output voltage needed is reached through the POT.

Shutdown mode operation

When SDN is logic low <0.8V or 0V, the high voltage power supply module shuts down.

When SDN is logic high >1.2V or left unconnected, the high voltage power supply module is working well.

Safety precautions

There is internal protection circuits in the high voltage power supply, and high voltage short circuit should also be avoided. Make sure the high voltage output is insulated from the ambient environment so as to prevent high voltage power supply from damaged by overshoot.
