The Development Bottleneck of Domestic LED Automotive Lamps

In the car field, there is no enterprise specializes in the production of LED lamps. Only a few optoelectronic industries do the research and development in this area. The development bottleneck of domestic LED automotive lamps mainly comes from the following there aspects:
First of all, the cost of making LED lamps is too high. The technology of LED chip production is different and the threshold is high. In the crystal growing process, temperature, humidity, power supply and dust elimination need to meet very strict requirements. At the early stage, the factory of industrial garden type needs to be invested and built. At present, the main producing area of LED chip is China Taiwan, occupies the market 47%. However, Chinese continental LED factories only make resin packaging processing, and the chipsneed substantial imports. That is the main cause of the high cost. In fact, high cost of LED lampis not the main problem. Aftersolving the problem ofquality and quantity, the price will drop down. But it is impossible that the LED price is down to incandescent price. However, we believe that the LED lamp price will not be an obstacle to the development of LED lights. LED lamps will replace the incandescent lampjust like the original expensive incandescent lamp takes the place of candles.
Second, because of lack of China's independent brand cars and the middle and low car-based, the demand of LED is limited. Foreign brands which occupies the main domestic car market share, is very strict with the LED supplier selection and certification. So it is difficult to enter the supply chain for the domestic LED enterprises. But with the rise of private cars with independent intellectual property rights, which launch ten or twenty new models every year,this will be an opportunity for the development of domestic LED enterprises.
Finally, it is difficult to achieve the LED standard of vehicles because domestic LED focuses onthe middle and low cars. Jin Ronghao who is an engineer of Hella lighting R & D center of Changchun limited company, said if only a breakthrough was in product patent technology, it would be possible to occupy a space of the LED application market. At present, the domestic enterprise is very difficult to buy foreign line equipment of vehicle LED production. And the most important is that chip production equipment cannot be bought because foreign technology is confidential.
