The Advantages of Thermoelectric Technology

Some low or medium heat transfer, which needs complex temperature control process, thermoelectric cooler can provide great help. And in certain cases, it is the only choice. Although no refrigeration is universal and thermoelectric cooler cannot be applied in all fields, compared with other cooling devices, thermoelectric cooler (see Fig.1) has a lot of advantages.

(1) No moving parts: When working, thermoelectric coolers only use electricity, and there are no moving parts. As a result, they basically do not need maintenance.
(2) Small volume and quality: The volume and weight of a thermoelectric refrigeration system are much smaller than those of the mechanical refrigeration (see Fig.2). In addition, for the application of all kinds of strict requirements, there are different kinds of standard or special dimensions and differentalternative layouts.
(3) Being reduced to below ambient temperature: The traditional radiator can be used until temperature is increased to above the ambient temperature. Thermoelectric cooler has the capacity of dropping object temperature to below the environment temperature
(4) Meeting both the heating and cooling requirements: Thermoelectric cooler can adjust the refrigeration or heating mode through adjusting direction of the direct current. Based on application of this characteristic, another independent heating or cooling function elements are not need in a given system.
(5) Accurate temperature control: Because of the thermoelectric cooler with a closed loop temperature control, it can accurately control the temperature in the range of 0.1℃.
(6) High reliability: Thermoelectric cooler with all solid structures has very high reliability.Although it relates to some application technology in a certain extent, the lifetime of typical thermoelectric cooler can reach more than 200000 hours.
(7) Electronic mute: In the work process, thermoelectric cooler basically does not produce any electronic interference signal, which is different with the traditional mechanical cooling devices. It can be connected with electronic sensors, and it does not interfere with the work. In addition, it also does not produce any noise during the operation.
(8) Working in any angle: Thermoelectric cooler can work under the conditions of any angle and zero gravity. So it is widely used in aerospace equipment.
(9) Simple and convenient energy supply: Thermoelectric cooler can directly use the DC power supply, and load power can change in a wide range. In many conditions, the pulse width modulation can also be used.
(10) Point of refrigeration: Thermoelectric cooler can refrigeratethe single unit and small region.
So it can avoid cooling the whole package device or shell.
(11) Power generation: Using its “inverse process”, temperature difference was loaded on the thermoelectric refrigerator, and then it can turn thermoelectric refrigerator into a small DC generator.
(12) Environment friendly: Inevitably, the traditional mechanical refrigeration system in the work need to use Freon or other chemical substances, and it can also produce some other harmful gas during the work process.
