Performance features of NTC thermistor

Thermistors are thermal elements made of semiconductor materials. Resistance value of thermistors can vary with the temperature of resistor bodies. Thermistors can be divided into three types: positive temperature coefficient thermistor (PTC), negative temperature coefficient thermistor (NTC) and critical temperature coefficient thermistor (CRT).
NTC thermistor has the following advantages:
(1)High sensitivity
The absolute value of its temperature coefficient resistance is greater than that of the metal film resistor.
(2)Good stability
(3)Small size
It can be made into various shapes and the minimum size of bead thermistors up to φ0.2mm.
(4)Low power consumption
(5)Low cost
NTC thermistor have a wide measuring range, especially suitable for temperature measurement between -100~300℃. It has been widely used for measuring point temperature, surface temperature, temperature difference, etc. what’s more, it's also used for automatic control and thermal compensation circuit.
