The Most Obvious Features of NTC Thermistors

Time : 2014-12-15 10:22Source :analogtechnologies Author : Analog Click :
NTC is short for Negative Temperate Coefficient. Resistance is varied with the temperature change, and its resistance will decrease when the temperature rise and vice-versa. For example, the resistance is 50kΩ when it is at 25℃, while the resistance may be only 40kΩ when it is at 50℃. It is theory on the technical level, hard to explain. However, there is an example in our life. It is much easier to understand. This feature of thermistors can be widely applied in real life. Absolutely, every family has at least one electric cooker. When the rice is done, the cooker will keep warm automatically. How does it work? That is, when the temperature gets high in the cooker, the resistance of the thermistor in the electric cooker will decrease. With current changing, the cooker will switch from heating state to keeping warm state automatically.
