ATI has developed multiple series laser drivers over years, including low noise constant current laser drivers, high voltage constant current laser drivers, high efficiency laser drivers, etc. Among these laser drivers, the newly developed series is high voltage laser driver. ATLS10A217D is one of this series.

With multiple important features, it has a wide input voltage range, from 5.5V to 27V, as well as high efficiency, over 90%. Meanwhile, this laser driver comes with a really small size, as small as 27.4×21×5.7 (mm). You can find the physical photo below.

You may find out more by looking at the internal block of this laser driver, as follows:

From this block diagram, we can see that there is an over temperature protection. When the temperature exceeds 120°C, the laser driver is forced into Standby Mode, and restarts itself when the temperature recovers to the normal range. The output stage can obtain high efficiency, low noise, and high modulation speed. Moreover, it has an over current protection circuit and a soft start circuit. The former prevents the laser driver from being damaged by over current and the latter can increase the current slowly in the start-up, but shut down the current quickly.

We have also developed an upgraded laser driver, ATLS15A218, with larger current 15A, and you could check it here.
