The ATLSxA212D series laser drivers have low output noise, compact size, current-limiting protection. There are 5 models in this series of laser drivers. The “xA” in the part number represents the maximum output current of the laser driver module, which can be: 50mA, 500mA, 1A, 2A and 3A respectively. The laser drivers have a wide range of input voltage from 4.5V - 16V. There is no need for heat sink with high efficiency. Two kinds of packaging are available: DIP and SMT.

The internal block diagram shows that the laser driver provides these the functions: laser current limit, laser current monitoring, over current protection, over temperature protection, loop good indication, soft start, standby, and shut down. This laser driver ATLSxA212 can be used with the evaluation board ATLS212EV1.0 and load assembly ATLS212DLD1.0. Since high power laser is usually quite expensive, we have developed a load assembly and evaluation board to avoid making costly errors in the process of product evaluation. The load assembly can be used to simulate how the actual laser diode would be driven by the laser driver.
