ATI develops and manufactures a series of ultra low noise laser diode driver, 104 series. ATLS1A104 is in this series with highest maximum output current, 1A. The noise is as low as <0.6 6μA at 0.1Hz to 10Hz.
This laser diode driver can output 0.5V to 3.6V when it is powered by a 5V power supply. It comes with many excellent functions, such as loop good indication, separate programmable output current and the limit, temperature monitoring inside the controller, etc. Besides, there is an over-heat protection function. The laser diode driver will shut down itself when the temperature exceeds the temperature limit, 120°C, and will restart itself when the temperature recovers. In the photo below, there are the looks from several views. It can be seen that it is enclosed in a metal enclosure that is used to block EMIs. It also has a small size.
