LED is the abbreviation of Light Emitting Diode, which uses solid semiconductor chips as light materials. When adding forward voltage to its two ends, carriers in semiconductors will campsite and release extra energy, which can cause photon emission and generate visible light. The advantage of LED including: efficient and energy-saving, long service lifetime, health light, green environmental protection and so on.

LED has been developed for several years, but in the field of lighting, it still belongs to a new technology. With the development of LED technology, the light-emitting efficiency is being gradually improved and the applications of LED will also become more and more widely. Especially under the background of global energy shortage, the foreground of LED arouses more and more attention in the lighting market.

At present, the power consumption of lighting accounts for 20% of the whole power consumption. It is an important way of saving energy to greatly reduce lighting electricity consumption. In order to realize this goal, industries have developed many kinds of energy-saving lighting devices and have achieved certain results. However, there are much more things to do to reach the requirement of “Green lighting”, so now it is very essential to develop and apply new light source with more efficiency, more reliability, more security and more durable. Because of its inherent superiority, LED is attracting the attention of the whole world.
